Robert M. Wright, PE

Bob Wright is a Senior Highway/Transportation Engineer in the Transportation Division of Pennoni Associates at its Philadelphia headquarters.  He joined Pennoni in 2015 after service at Urban Engineers and the City of Philadelphia Department of Streets.  Over his 37-year career in the transportation and highway engineering/design fields, he has been involved in numerous construction and improvement efforts on local highways and transportation facilities and a handful of similar projects in New York.

Bob graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Urban Engineering.  He is a registered professional engineer in four states.  He is active in the Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Delaware Valley Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers, and has served in several positions including President in each of these groups.  He is a member of the American Public Works Association, the Institute of Transportation Engineers and the Women’s Transportation Seminar.  He holds the membership grade of Fellow in ASCE and ITE and is a Public Works Leadership Fellow in APWA.

At the Engineers’ Club Bob is currently a Director and a Past President (2010-12).  He co-chairs the Delaware Valley Engineers Week Committee and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Philadelphia Engineering Foundation. 

Bob was born and raised in Philadelphia. When he is not working or editing newsletters, he enjoys exploring the history of the city and its transportation network (mostly through reading), gardening, tinkering around the house, walking, bowling, and an occasional attempt at golf.  He follows most local major sports teams and is a lifelong fan of the local college basketball scene, particularly the Big Five.
