Discover Engineering In Greater Philadelphia - Student Outreach Website

The development of the new “Discover Engineering in Greater Philadelphia” website is done, with additional content being added. Developed through a grant from IBM, this new website is a valuable resource for anyone seeking information on the engineering industry, including:

  • Students searching for engineering programs at local universities
  • Program providers interested in promoting K-12 student outreach engineering programs
  • Teachers and educators looking for engineering programs for their students
  • Parents seeking information on how to help their child become interested in engineering
  • Engineers looking for opportunities to mentor students
  • Anyone looking to find out what engineers do

If you have a K-12 engineering-related program, scholarship, or internship that you’d like to advertise, you can now register as a “program provider” and add your program information to a searchable database on the site. This could be a camp, competition, demonstration, hands-on activity / mentoring program, tour, lecture, scholarship, or internship. Click here to register and to enter your program information; click here for additional information on entering your program.  Contact Susan Best for more information and questions.

Several programs have indicated a need for volunteers and/or donations; check out the site on a regular basis for opportunities to support student outreach activities in the area.
