The Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology is a premier facility that integrates state-of-the-art nanotechnology equipment. The 78,000 gross square foot facility will house several multi-user experimental laboratories critical to advanced research and development in nanotechnology.
Our tour will feature a presentation by Hasanaat Prophete, PE followed by a tour of the facility led by Ira Wilson. Ms. Prophete is a Project Engineer with Penn’s Facilities & Real Estate Services department and was intimately involved during the design of the project reviewing the design of engineered systems for compliance with Penn’s standards and meeting the project goals. Mr. Winston is the Chief Infrastructure Officer for the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Penn. During construction, Ira represented the School of Engineering, which is the academic depart under which the Singh Center falls. Together they can provide an “inside/outside” perspective of the project including a general overview of its research programs.
The Singh Center is at 3205 Walnut Street. Registration will be in the lobby and the presentation will be in the Glandt Forum on the third floor. If you arrive late and there is no one to let you in, call 610-592-4358.
As an added bonus, Penn has extended an invitation to tour the Campus Command Center immediately following the Singh Center Tour. The Command Center (3101 Walnut Street) is just a block east of the Singh Center and conveniently located next door to our happy hour destination at St. Declan’s Well (Pub and Restaurant) at 3131 Walnut Street (not included in the fee for the tour). So you can see the men and women “behind the operational curtain” of Penn’s expansive campus and then start your weekend off hoisting a pint.
The Singh Center Tour should qualify for 1.5 PDH, with an additional 0.5 PDH for the Command Center Tour.
