Infrastructure Day in Harrisburg - May 8, 2012

03/30/12
Once again, the Club is teaming up with Pennsylvania Sections of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE), the American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA), among others, in visiting our legislators in Harrisburg on Tuesday May 8.

Considering the dire state of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure, it’s vitally important for us to take action and talk to our legislative officials about the importance of infrastructure funding to Pennsylvania’s economy.

Meetings with elected officials will be scheduled for you for maximum effectiveness. {Sorry - it's too late to register for these visits.}

Here’s what we need from you:
  • Your commitment to travel to Harrisburg on May 8, 2012 to participate
  • An hour or two of your time beforehand to familiarize yourself with current issue briefs detailing industry positions on what needs to be done to support strong infrastructure in our state (to be forwarded to registrants)
Here’s what you will get from participating in this event:
  • Satisfaction that you are involved in your community and improving Pennsylvania
  • The opportunity to start or strengthen your relationship with elected officials
Considering the dire state of Pennsylvania’s infrastructure, it’s vitally important for those involved to take action and talk to their legislative officials about the importance of infrastructure funding to Pennsylvania’s economy.

We encourage you to ask your employer to support you in attending this important event. Even if your engineering practice is not directly involved in infrastructure, you are affected by the poor state of our infrastructure and it is important for all engineers to raise our voices on issues that affect us all.

ACEC/PA will also be hosting their traditional Legislative Reception from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. CLICK HERE for more information.
