Become a Volunteer Tutor

06/04/12
Do you have knowledge and skills in Math or Science? Do you want to touch lives and make a difference? BECOME A VOLUNTEER TUTOR in math or science. Tutor high school students 2-4 hours per week for one semester in a classroom setting. The Philadelphia Math + Science Coalition is piloting a tutoring program starting this Fall 2012 for Philadelphia high school students taking math courses such as algebra and geometry and science courses such as biology, chemistry and physics.

Tutors will work in a classroom with a teacher present to help individual students and small groups of students with daily work. You can volunteer one or more days per week. Orientation and training provided. Volunteers must obtain current Pennsylvania State Police and child abuse clearances.

Register to be a volunteer here by August 15, 2012. To find out more, contact Eric Langenmayr or Don McKinney
