Presentation title: Structural Strengthening with FRP Composites

Description: Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRP’s) have become a viable and accepted means of upgrading, strengthening, and rehabilitating structures throughout the world. Typical applications include external reinforcement, façade repairs, seismic upgrades, change in use, building alterations and innovative anchoring techniques. This presentation will describe successful installation of these various systems including a discussion of the relevant building codes, fire protection requirements and design software programs as it relates to FRP composites. Case studies will be presented to showcase the use of these materials in the field and demonstrate the economic viability available to building owners and property managers.
About the presenter: Eri Vokshi is a Senior Product Engineer for CFRP and Corrosion Products at Sika-US. She has over 9 years of experience with FRP materials and design. She holds a Master’s degree in Material Science from Arizona State University and is a professional engineer in the state of Florida. Eri is also an active member of ICRI, ACI, SEA and the chair of ACI 440-0E subcommittee.
