About this event

MASITE Eastern Area is happy to have Signal Service host us at their facility in West Chester. The event will include a tour of their new facility and presentations on the following topics:

Pennsylvania MioVision TraffOp Evaluation Pilot

Automated Signal Performance Measures (ATSPMs) are a rapidly growing movement of industry-pushing performance standards that encourage and enable proactive, data driven operations & maintenance decisions. Agencies across North America, that have incorporated ATSPMs into their operational processes, have experienced higher staff efficiency, improved traffic operations & targeted maintenance responses.

PennDOT has begun a statewide capture of High-res data, using this information to create reports, including, Purdue Coordination Diagrams with the goal of establishing a foundation for the ATSPM metrics. The MioVision TraffOp pilot provides tools to digest, report & provide actionable feedback with the intention of reducing congestion and travel times through signal optimization & operational recommendations.

The goal of this session is to demonstrate the TraffOp system that is being piloted across many of the PennDOT Districts & showcase the benefit to State officials, Engineers, designers & end-users.

Engineering with Maintenance In Mind

As the technology of traffic signal infrastructure continues to advance & evolve, so must the capabilities of the maintenance personnel responsible for its upkeep. The goal for this instruction is to provide the unique perspective of a Maintenance Supervisor who is constantly confronted with managing the expectations & budgets of PennDOT, design engineers & municipal end users. Among other related topics, we intend to discuss the challenge of an agency sustaining personal that are knowledge about a balance of aging existing infrastructure as well as new technology.

Two sessions will be offered, one in the morning (10:00 am) and one in the afternoon (1:30 pm), with a tour and lunch in between for attendees of both sessions. Spaces will be limited to 25 per session!
