Philadelphia Navy Yard Foundations
This presentation provides a brief history of the Philadelphia Navy Yard, summarizes the geotechnical conditions under a portion of the facility and presents our geotechnical recommendations for foundation construction at several (6) sites where new turning and forge equipment is being placed as part of upgrade and enhancement at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command - Mid-Atlantic.(1 PDH)
Presenter Bio:
Robert Jost is a licensed Professional Engineer in several States (PA, NJ and DE). He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (B.S in 2004) and Rowan University (M.S. in 2013). During his professional career, Bob has comprehensive experience conducting geotechnical investigations and providing construction Quality Assurance services for residential, retail/commercial, industrial, and institutional developments. His experience includes geotechnical test borings, rock coring, and test pits; soil testing and evaluation; subgrade evaluation and earthwork compaction testing; infiltration testing; shallow foundation bearing surface verification; pile installation observation; masonry sampling and testing; and asphalt pavement testing.
