There have been numerous changes in the execution of power system studies performed for the purpose of creating arc flash labels that comply with the requirements of the 2020 National Electrical Code. This course will describe many of the changes and provide an overview of the current methodsand requirements which when followed will produce arc flash labels and reports that comply with the latest version of NFPA 70E, which include the use of the latest formulas published in IEEE 1584 – 2018. The course will present examples of arc flash warning labels as well as and caution labels that are used when it has been determined that an arc flash hazard does not exist. The use of software programs developed by SKM Technologies to perform arc flash assessments will be reviewed based on recently completed and on-going power system studies and arc flash assessments.
