Elevators – Complex Electrical Systems in Today’s World
Cost: No Charge. Registration is required.
Speaker: Joseph F. Maida, PE
Elevators have existed for over two thousand years. The original elevators were complex, for their time, and were driven by humans or animals. Today’s elevators are powered by electricity and driven by motors and are likely the most complex equipment within the infrastructure of buildings.
This course will review the history of elevators, the codes and standards that apply to elevators, elevator types and their components, and the complexity of the electrical power and control systems that make them function safely.
PDH certificates are available and an evaluation form will be emailed to you after the meeting. PDH certificate are sent by IEEE USA 3-4 weeks after the meeting.
