The Indian River Inlet in Delaware is a vital navigation link for the Inland Bays, supporting commercial, recreational, and Coast Guard use. Authorized by Congress in 1937, the project includes parallel jetties, a 200 ft wide channel dredged to 15 ft, and ongoing maintenance funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This dinner meeting will feature Melinda Eason, Geotechnical Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District, discussing jetty restoration, shoreline stability, and infrastructure protection.
