Positive Train Control on the Northeast Corridor: Past, Present, and Future (1 PDH)

 

The Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) currently operating across the Northeast Corridor is a PTC-enabling technology that overlays traditional Automatic Train Control Cab Signal Systems (ATC CSS) to provide life-saving Positive Train Control (PTC) functionality mandated by the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008. This presentation will provide an overview of the history and evolution of the technology behind Positive Train Control (PTC) on the Northeast Corridor.
