Speaker: Pritpal (“Pali”) Singh, PhD
IEEE has been supporting humanitarian projects in lower- and middle-income countries through various programs including the humanitarian activities committee (HAC), the IEEE Special Interest Group for Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) and the IEEE Smart Village program.
In this presentation, Dr. Singh will describe several sustainable development projects conducted with IEEE support, many including Villanova electrical and computer engineering students. The countries in which these projects have been carried out include the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Guatemala, Rwanda, and Burundi. The projects to be presented address several of the UN Sustainable Development goals including quality education, connectivity and digital literacy, and renewable energy
PDH certificates are available and an evaluation form will be emailed to you after the meeting. PDH certificate are sent by IEEE USA 3-4 weeks after the meeting.
