The National Roads Authority (NRA) engaged Remington & Vernick Engineers(RVE) to develop recommendations for improvements to the Butterfield Roundabout in George Town, Cayman Islands.This roundabout is located at the intersection of Esterly Tibbetts Highway, N Sound Road, and Godfrey Nixon Way and is known as a dangerous intersection to transverse due to high speeds and disregard for traffic markings. This presentation will review the process of designing multiple roundabout concepts, exploring the advantages and disadvantages of different roundabout types, and utilizing design software to achieve a preferred alternative to meet the client's needs.
